WW2 US Home Front Civil Defense Armband - Waterproofed Canvas

This is a very interesting Civil Defense armband. It clearly has the U.S. font and emblem for Civil Defense but is missing the blue and white triangle. That could indicate that this armband is an initial early issue or possibly from the WW1 era and the infancy of American Civil Defense efforts, when the US was preoccupied with saboteurs rather than air raids and seaborne invasions. There are no other markings to determine age. This armband had either been stapled onto a display or alternatively pinned onto a users arm. The waterproof canvas shows distinct age and yellowing. It also has been folded and likes to keep the fold. Otherwise a very interesting piece for someone interested in the Home Front Defense.
