Description

Selling this Keuffel and Esser K&E Surveyor's Compass in its original leather case. On the front of the case are the letters “CCC”. Possibly from the Civilian Conservation Corps days? If so, that would place it somewhere around 1933 to 1942. It also has a stamped embossed emblem on the front that spells “DIETZGEN”. The compass works fine and should clean up nicely. The serial #34480 is located on the back of the instrument. Also on the back of the compass are the initials "BE", which was possibly the owner. Im not sure what the brass object that is inside the case if for. The threads seem to be different from those on the bottom of the compass. There is no tripod. The leather case is in good condition. This is a great example of an old surveyor's compass. A nice display piece that is still functional.
Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS First Class Package.
