    Description

Rare discontinued Carter Knives F16 mid tech folder. This beauty was a collaboration done between famous knife designer and maker Robert Carter, and well known custom builder Chad Nichols. These were made as a short run only, so they are very hard to find. No two of these were exactly alike, from what I understand. This particular version features textured finish titanium scales with a custom dark bronze anodized finish. Robert Carter is known for creating one-off specials, and this is no exception. In most light it looks like a really dark bronze color, but sometimes appears dark grey to me from an angle. Very cool knife! It also features a unique pocket clip unlike any others I have seen. From everything I read, Robert Carter tried to make each one stand out from the others, and using different pocket clips was one of things he did as well. The wide tanto blade runs smoothly on bearings and is made from cpm154 steel and features what I call a combination satin and stonewashed finish. The blade is approximately 3.5” long, and the overall length of the knife opened is about 8.5”. It has very desirable early lockup, as this knife has hardly been used at all. It is well centered with a strong detent also. The knife shows just some hints from use, mostly being carried and shown off. Nothing really stands out to me, but there might be some tiny signs of wear, as it is used. There are some light marks on the flipper tab and on the pivot screw, I’m guessing from rubbing against something in the pocket. In the last photo, you can see a closeup of the logo itself on the blade. Every single one of these mid techs I have seen on the internet show the same fading and loss to the printed logo. This one is doing the same. It’s a shame they didn’t etch it in. There is no box or anything else included.
Please look at all the pictures for condition and ask before purchasing if you need more, or have any questions. I posted many pictures at different angles and different lighting so the buyer could get a clear picture of this with no surprises.
Also check out my other auctions for more ZT, TOPS, ESEE, Emerson , Zero Tolerance, Benchmade, Bark River, or other knives, as well as Surefire flashlights that I'm listing. I am selling off my old collectible Surefire 660 lights, like used during the military period commonly known as Blackhawk Down. I am selling stuff from my collection to help with medical costs, so please don’t message me with lower offers. I do occasionally lower the price of items if they don’t sell in a reasonable amount of time, so check back occasionally if my current asking price is more than you want to give. Thanks for understanding. We only ship to the U.S. and do not offer local pick-up. Many thanks.
