    Description

This issue of the General Interest Magazine 'Liberty' issue dated February 28, 1942 is quite the piece. This issue holds an interesting place in WWII history as it shows America as it was just months after joining the war. It contains your standard fare of early 40's product advertisements, a piece written by George Bernard Shaw, a section on the New York Yankees, a scathing piece about Congress and some questionable actions, the necessary wartime issue of censorship, and even a piece about Russian Propaganda on the Eastern Front. This issue has it all and is a unique acquisition for anyone wanting a look into the psyche and culture of the United States; freshly wounded and brought into the biggest conflict of the 20th Century. In terms of condition, this magazine is in perfect condition considering the age of the piece. There is no water damage or ink bleed. Little to no staining, and yellowing and color fading in-line with age. Marine Corps collectors will fall in love with the cover art - I doubt he let the Sailor "cut-in!"
