1894 Vol. 1 and 2 Campbell's Illustrated History of the World's Columbian Expo.. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
-11 lb. 12.9 oz. Combined weight between the two gigantic volumes. Thewe two enormous, impressive tomes dwarf any coffee table book and are of a giant size all of their own
-A basic google search reveals their presence in the Smithsonian collection due to their important documentation of this Chicago World's fair honoring the 400th anniversary of Columbus' venture to the new world
-Flaws include:
-the faded state of the covers and spine. The lettering on the spines is only visible under certain light due to fading.
-Volume II has some splitting on the front inner hinge and the second and third front Endpapers at one point we're nibbled on a bit by a bug at one point it appears. All other pages are unaffected
-Volume I is in nice Conditon with no big bites. It has no splitting of the hinges. The only writing is a pencil inscription on the inside front cover that Volume II also shares
-When moving the books or opening and closing them their is some light chipping and flaking that occurs, probably from the unique cover material
I happily admit to browsing carefully through these books and flipping through the pages inspires confidence in the strong binding. All pages are tightly bound with the only exception being the last page of Volume One which is present but separated
