I have for sale a medal from the 1893 Columbian Exposition that was held in Chicago. This medal is made of aluminum, it is 1 1/2 inch in diameter and in a very high uncirculated condition. This medal is listed in the Eglit catalog as #18 and in the So Called Dollar catalog as # 169. The obverse depicts the landing scene with Columbus and soldiers and below the scene it reads LANDING OF COLUMBUS. On the reverse it reads at the rim SOUVINIR OF THE WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION - 1893. In the center it reads FACTS - ABOUT CHICAGO - POPULATION 1500,000 - LENGTH OF CITY 26 MILES - GREATES WITH IS 15 MINES - TOTAL AREA 190 SQUARE MILES - 2210 MILES OF STREETS - CHURCHES NUMBER - OVER 500.
