Description
Advertising medallion issued by the Eureka Tempered Copper Co. for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. This celebrates their winning the John Scott Medal, awarded by the City of Philadelphia in 1891. 38mm in pure Copper as is logical enough. Catalogued as Eglit-22 in his opus on Columbian Expo memorabilia. Of suitable size to also be collected along with the So Called Dollar series, however as a "commercial" issue not technically allowed under that classification system. Choice Almost Uncirculated with some remaining original untoned Copper surface. No damage, just a few light marks, nicer than many seen. This will certify at NGC without a problem, and should be one of the nicer known, should you wish to submit it. Being sold for customer, so the price is not (currently) negotiable - my regrets. I am happy to combine shipping for multiple items.P
