    Description

I have for sale a medal for the 1893 Columbian Exposition that was held in Chicago, Illinois.  This medal is listed in the Eglit catalog as # 135.  The medal is black & made of lead, it is 2 11/16 inches in diameter and in a high grade circulated condition. The rim is very rough & the two holes you see in the obverse field I believe were from when the medal was originally made.  It is very heavy and thick.  The medal obverse shows a high relief bearded bust of Columbus with a ruffled collar and in the field it reads COLUMBUS,  The reverse in the center shows the exposition Administration building in high relief.  Above the building it reads WORLDS COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION and below the building it reads CHICAGO - 1893 - ADMISTRATION BUILDING.  Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE COLLECTABLES.  (16,642)
